Dr. Lauren Di Ponio has imagined being a veterinarian from as far back as she can remember. In 2008, after completing a BSc and MSc at UBC, she took the leap across the Pacific Ocean, relocating to New Zealand to commence her studies in veterinary medicine. She graduated in 2012 and returned home to British Columbia to start practicing as a small animal veterinarian, where she eventually became a co-owner of a practice in Sooke, BC. Recently she moved with her husband, two young sons, and rescue dog to Windsor, ON to be closer to her husband’s family.
She is passionate about the prevention of disease through promoting healthy lifestyles, educating on appropriate nutrition, and emphasizing consistent health exams for early disease detection and treatment. She also has a keen interest in dentistry and has taken numerous courses to extend her knowledge in dental disease and appropriate treatment. As a new member of the Essex Animal Hospital Team she is looking forward to meeting your pet and you!
